I tried to make a cake once. It's been about a year and a half ago...and I'm still scared to try again. I LOVE the idea, but I sucked at making the cake!
I met this girl, who also loved the idea, at Starbucks on the Plaza. Remember, I'm a total stranger to her and she hands over her ultrasound results to me! I can't even wait to get to my car to find out what she is having. A total stranger's baby news made me so excited, like she was a long-time friend. So you can understand how great the concept is - I bake a cake, color it either blue or pink and I frost it so you can't see until the BIG moment. With family and friends gathered at their home for the baby shower, she cuts into the cake, lifts it up for all to see. It's blue! She and her husband shared this once in a life time moment with all their closest friends and family. Ahhh...but I still wish the cake looked better.
I'd try this again. Because I think I'd do a better job this time and because it was so exciting. Even as a total stranger.
